It is important to make a the difference between 17th century and 18th century notes.
The notes dating back to the 17th century have a medieval and Aristotelian content. Physica, Metaphysica and Logica are most often represented. In the 18th century these disciplines were still taught, but the content of the courses had radically changed under the influence of the evolutions in scientific knowledge. A class on physics did not longer study the ‘libri de anima’, but taught kinematics, hydrostatics and electricity.
